In these times of uncertainty, I’m thankful that one thing is certain: God is Lord of heaven and earth, and He loves each of us with a deep, personal, and everlasting love. He wants what is best for us, and He will have the ultimate victory.
In these times of financial difficulty, I’m thankful that God has provided for my family. I may not live in a mansion or drive a fancy car, but I have everything I need. I’m also thankful that these times provide me with many opportunities to deny myself and reach out to help others who are in need.
In these times when things seem out of control, I’m thankful that God is in control. I’m thankful for this opportunity to surrender to Him and to trust in His goodness and mercy.
In these times of sickness and death, I’m thankful that God has raised up heroes to care for the sick and dying. I’m also thankful for the opportunity to offer up my small sufferings and sacrifices for the sake of those who are suffering so much, especially the elderly who are isolated and starving for human contact.
In these times of isolation and separation, I’m thankful for the many opportunities for virtual togetherness. I’m thankful that I’m able to “hang out” with my family all over the country and that I’m able to “attend” Mass all over the world at almost any hour.
In these times when my activities are limited, I’m thankful that I have more time for prayer and exercise. I’m especially thankful for the opportunity to be outside in God’s creation, where I’m reminded that God, who created this beautiful world, is bigger than any of my problems.
